6-Fight UFC Parlay Nets Little River Casino Bettor Nearly $10K

UFC Parlay Little River Winner

Imagine the possibilities.

Along with legalized sports gambling in Michigan comes the occasional big win on parlays, which you’ll hear plenty about in the coming years. It’s a risky proposition, though it can pay off in a big way.

Little River Casino Resort in Manistee publicized a recent big winner last week. Sam Gilbert of Manistee apparently won nearly $10,000 on a $100 wager of a 6-fight parlay from the UFC 252 card on Aug. 15.

It’s worth noting, of course, that most parlays are longshots. The more legs you add to a bet, the less of a chance it has of hitting.

But expect sportsbooks, and later sports betting apps, to continue to entice sports fans with the draw of the big score. It’s a marketing tool, and a good one. But don’t necessarily gamble with confidence that you’ll be the next big winner.

Manistee resident connects on 6-fight UFC parlay

Little River tweeted out Gilbert’s big win with his permission.

In all, the Manistee resident pocketed $9,909.98 for the score. The casino also released a screenshot of stacked $100 bills from Snapchat with the caption: “This is what 10k looks like.”

Little River opened the River Rock Sportsbook and Grill on July 17, one of the state’s first tribal casinos to do so.

The UFC 252 card, headlined by heavyweight Stipe Miocic winning a unanimous decision over Daniel Cormier, was one of the first major sporting events since the sportsbook opened this summer.

Gilbert chose both prelim and main card fights to fulfill his parlay.

NFL football is the big score for sportsbooks, and the Michigan gambling industry is rushing to get in on the action.

River Rock was the first sportsbook to open in the northern Michigan region. Though, Island Resort & Casino announced it will open a sportsbook in Harris on Sept. 10, the same day as NFL kickoff. Near Escanaba, that BetAmerica Sportsbook could be the Upper Peninsula’s first to go live.

More parlay wins coming to a feed near you

As online sports gambling opens this fall in Michigan, get ready for these kinds of marketing tactics from casinos. After all, they have been highlighting slot winners for years.

AS you see more and more sports betting winners, it is important to remember to play within your bankroll and treat sports betting as a fun hobby and not a get-rich-quick scheme.

If you’re betting a low amount though, there’s always a chance your parlay will hit. Just check your social media feeds in the next calendar year for proof.
