In the competitive world of Michigan online casinos, customer acquisition can be tough.

So, in order to try to stand out from the rest, FanDuel Casino MI is trying something unique — and tasty. New customers who sign up for a new FanDuel account between now and Aug. 3 can be entered into a drawing to win free chicken dinners for a year.

It’s part of FanDuel’s Winner Winner Chicken Dinner promotion.

How FanDuel Casino chicken dinner promo works

Like most welcome offers, the first step in entering the contest is registering a new FanDuel account. Deposit at least $1 into your account and login within 30 days of a drawing — which is simple, as they take place every Friday during the sweepstakes period — and you will be automatically entered.

You don’t have to bet on anything, just make a deposit.

Winners will receive a $5,000 gift card that does not expire, and is good for use at eligible locations. The $5,000 is based on the average daily cost of a dinner: $13.69.

What restaurants does the FanDuel chicken dinner promo work with?

The list of restaurants the gift card will be accepted at includes most fast food and many casual dining chain restaurants.

Among them are Chipotle, Taco Bell, Burger King, Sonic, Olive Garden, Buffalo Wild Wings and Applebee’s. There are even some retail stores that qualify, including Target, Amazon and Walmart.

Those restaurants — outside of Buffalo Wild Wings — aren’t really known for their chicken dinners, even if they do serve chicken in some form.

But there’s a loophole that makes several other restaurants eligible.

Among the “eligible locations” listed in the promo’s fine print are GrubHub, Doordash and Uber Eats. Now that most restaurants offer a takeout service of some kind, that means you can use the gift card basically anywhere.

4 Michigan favorites where you can use the FanDuel chicken dinner promo

Of course, going through one of the delivery services comes with some costs. There are the literal costs with fees and tipping the driver.

There’s also the fact that some of the best chicken joints in Michigan either don’t deliver at all, or don’t use one of the major delivery providers.

But here are four that we found that do.

Chicken Coop (Kalamazoo area)

Headquartered in Kalamazoo, Chicken Coop has multiple locations throughout southwestern Michigan. GrubHub will deliver, at least out of the Benton Harbor location. The fried chicken is a highlight, but the sides are also highly regarded.

Public House (Ferndale)

Uber Eats or GrubHub can deliver from here, but it’s going to cost you more than one of your typical meals. The hot honey chicken sandwich is $20.95, but very worth it.

Eastside Fish Fry And Grill (Lansing)

This mid-Michigan favorite is available on all three major delivery services. Its owner is an ex-felon, and he employs and trains non-violent prisoners to help them get the same second chance. Oh, and the chicken (and fish) are delicious.

Joe Louis Southern Kitchen (Detroit)

It’s temporarily closed on Doordash, but still available on GrubHub. Any restaurant that carries the name of one of the greatest Detroit athletes of all-time deserves a try. We won’t tell FanDuel if you don’t, but there’s a lot more than chicken here, including some delightful desserts.
