The Paul Bunyan Trophy isn’t nearly the biggest prize on the line Saturday in East Lansing.
To the victor who walks out of Spartan Stadium with the statue, even more will be earned.
Achievements such as a continued spot in the Top 10, (more than) a year of bragging rights after a huge victory, and the Big Ten East title destiny in their own hands. Those are all there for the taking.
It’s the kind of stuff dreams are made of for athletes, and it’s a potential big score for Michigan sportsbooks, too.
Behind February’s Super Bowl, the Michigan Wolverines vs. Michigan State Spartans football game could be the state’s most-wagered on single sporting event this calendar year, the first for online sports betting in Michigan.
And sportsbooks are looking to lure customers with promos to juice their own betting handles on the rivalry game.
FanDuel Sportsbook: Get $6 bonus for each touchdown scored
FanDuel Sportsbook has come through with a winner of a promotion for the big game.
For existing accounts, opt in on the Promos page, and then wager $50+ on the point spread for either side of the rivalry game.
Then, for every touchdown scored by either team, you get $6 of bonus site credit. However, that is capped at $50 in bonus if the offenses really go to work at Spartan Stadium.
Make sure you wager with cash from your account (and not bonus money) for the promotion to kick in.
Bonus money will be credited within 72 hours of settlement and then needs to be used within seven days after receiving it.
For reference, Michigan has scored 32 touchdowns this season (4.6 per game) and allowed 12 (1.7 per game). Michigan State has scored 30 touchdowns (4.3 per game) and allowed 14 (2.0 per game).
DraftKings Sportsbook: 25% Same Game Parlay boost
DraftKings Sportsbook is the new leader in Michigan sports betting, so you knew they would come through with some kind of deal for Michiganders.
For Saturday’s game, DraftKings is offering a 25% boost on a four-plus leg Same Game Parlay.
Bettors must opt in on the Promos section beforehand, then the offer will appear on the bet slip after qualifying selections are made.
To qualify, the parlay must have odds of+300 or longer (for example, +375 would qualify; +150 or -125 would not).
There is a $50 max bet on the promotion with a maximum of $250 in additional winnings.
If the boost does not appear, refresh the page or try opting in again. The profit boost expires at noon EST on Saturday, and the promotion excludes live bets, cash out bets, voided bets or other odds boosts.
BetRivers Sportsbook: 50% live boost for big game
BetRivers Sportsbook added a promotion on Saturday just in time for the rivalry showdown.
There, users can use a 50% live bonus on any bet for the game.
Odds must be -200 or greater and the bet must be on an in-game wager.
There is a $50 max bet and a $250 maximum of additional winnings available.
Fox Bet: Chances to multiply money with odds boosts
How about a bipartisan offer for in-state fans who will be rooting in a very partisan fashion?
Fox Bet Sportsbook is requiring bettors to root for both sides in order for their odds boosts to score.
In one, fans can win 5x their money (+400 odds) if both teams throw an interception. There is a $10 max bet on that wager.
The other would require both Michigan and Michigan State to score in each quarter. That one has a $25 max bet and pays off 8x the wager (+700 odds).
What are the odds of those events occurring?
Well, Michigan has been especially stingy with the ball. The Wolverines have thrown just two interceptions over seven games, with just one coming from starter Cade McNamara. MSU’s Payton Thorne has thrown four interceptions in seven wins.
PointsBet: A menu of odds boosts for Spartans, Wolverines
PointsBet Sportsbook has a whole hub of booster bets lined up for Michigan and Michigan State.
Both teams are being boosted to be leading at halftime and also win the game. There is a $100 maximum collectively with these bets, as Michigan is boosted to +110 from -105. Michigan State was +240 and will be listed at +260.
Other odds boosts include:
- Both teams to score three-plus touchdowns: from -120 to -105
- Michigan to score first and win: from +125 to +140
- Over 875 total yards in the game: from +100 to +115
- A lead change to occur in the final 5 minutes of the fourth quarter: from +270 to +300 ($50 max bet)
- Over 1.5 lead changes in the game: -110 to +100 ($50 max bet)
Caesars Sportsbook: Can boost profits by 25% on five games
This one isn’t Michigan and Michigan State specific, but for any Saturday games, Caesars Sportsbook is offering a profit boost.
Five of them, in fact.
Five separate 25% profit boosts (with a $200 max wager) should be loaded in your “bonus drawer” for use on Saturday.
