BetMGM is adding two slots that hopefully help it regain the top spot in the Michigan market. And, they’re not just any slots. The operator announced on Monday that it is debuting Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Cheers themed titles.

In partnership with Atlantic Digital, BetMGM Casino Michigan has added multiple slots that involve recognizable TV shows and movies.

The two newest games will be tested in Michigan, first, before landing in all markets where BetMGM is live, pending regulatory approval.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Cheers turn into slots on BetMGM Michigan

In the unlikely chance you have never heard of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, it is a comedy/mystery from the mid 1990s, starring Jim Carrey.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective is a 5×3, 20-line slot with four fixed jackpots, mini wheel re-spins, and bonus spins with cash-on-reels and multiplier wilds. Symbols of the game feature Ace, a Ray Finkle jersey and a “laces out” football.

It’s even more unlikely you have never heard of Cheers. But, just in case, it was an 11-season sitcom that debuted in the early 1980s. Bottom line, both titles are classics, which could give BetMGM a leg-up on other Michigan online casinos.

The Cheers slot puts players inside the Boston bar with the following characters: Sam, Woody, Frasier, Coach, Diane, Carla, Rebecca and Norm. It is a 3×3, 17-line slot game contains re-spins with sticky, nudging wilds, three fixed jackpots and nine different bonus games.

Adding TV show and movie slots has been a top priority for Atlantic Digital. The company has already produced hits so far, and doesn’t expect anything different with the new releases.

“We are delighted to work with these iconic brands – Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Cheers and BetMGM,” Atlatic Digital CEO, Sam Hobcraft, said in a press release.

“We have built two unique games that really show off the brands to their fullest extent, from classic theme tunes to animations showcasing all the characters. It is a pleasure partnering with BetMGM to launch these branded games and add a new dimension to their product offering.”

Other popular TV shows and movie slots on BetMGM

Earlier this year, BetMGM announced the arrival of Star Trek: The Next Generation slot game. It also supplies a slot that is based on The Godfather, which is one of the most famous movies ever.

Atlantic Digital has an impressive array of titles that most players already recognize from another industry. The company also produces CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Charlie’s Angels slots.

Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Cheers can now be added to the mix. BetMGM VP of Gaming Product and Content, Oliver Bartlett, said:

“BetMGM is a destination for the most-recognizable movie and TV shows-turned slot games. Taking popular movies and TV shows and reimagining them for iGaming is a great way players can experience them in a different and exciting way. Our partnership with Atlantic Digital has added an element of exclusivity and entertainment to our already expansive library of games.”

To Bartlett’s point, BetMGM is home to many classic TV shows and movies that have turned into popular slots. Some of those include:

  • Ted
  • Peaky Blinders
  • Cats
  • Beavis and Butt-Head
  • The Goonies
  • Hell’s Kitchen
  • Hercules

It’s not a secret that BetMGM has lost market share in Michigan, as FanDuel overtook the top spot March.

However, BetMGM isn’t going anywhere while it continues to evolve and keep its library fresh for players.
