BetMGM and Inspired Entertainment came together to release a hybrid dealer game, MGM Bonus City, in Michigan, the operator announced. The game debuted in New Jersey in October 2023.
The new title launching in the Great Lakes State certainly gives BetMGM Casino Michigan a leg-up in the market. Hybrid dealer games are a spin-off of live dealer games which are highly popular at Michigan online casinos.
MGM Bonus City is available in Michigan
BetMGM players in the Great Lakes State can play MGM Bonus City, as the game is now live. It quickly became a popular title in New Jersey after the announcement last October.
MGM Bonus City is a hybrid dealer game, which takes footage of real dealers and uses green screen technology. The results of the game are digitally randomized and is considered an alternative to live dealer games.
Players can spin the wheel and place bets at the MGM property in Las Vegas through the game. There are eight potential outcomes that randomly award a special multiplier that can enhance the player’s winnings.
President and CEO of Inspired Entertainment, Brooks Pierce, said in a press release:
“We are thrilled to introduce MGM Bonus City in Michigan, enhancing our partnership with BetMGM. This game embodies the fusion of cutting-edge technology, engaging gameplay, and robust branding opportunities, setting a new standard for the iGaming experience. By integrating live dealer elements with dynamic virtual environments, we create a truly unique gaming experience.”
Why hybrid dealer games are important
Hybrid dealer games provide players with another vertical of gaming that includes slots, tables and live dealer titles. It offers players branded casino and gameshow content by blending physical and digital elements.
The title works as a live dealer game, because customers can play the game 24/7. BetMGM sees the game as an important addition to its library of games, which can be found in the table games section of BetMGM’s casino.
“MGM Bonus City is an immersive experience for players and Inspired did a fantastic job combining virtual and live elements,” VP of Gaming Product and Content, Oliver Bartlett said. “MGM Bonus City is a superb addition to BetMGM Casino, and we’re excited to continue the rollout across states we are live as regulations allow.”
BetMGM reclaims iGaming lead in Michigan
FanDuel surpassed the market leader, BetMGM, for the first time in 39 months in March. However, BetMGM has rebounded nicely to re-capture the crown.
Here is a table of each operator to show how close the battle has been in 2024:
Month | BetMGM | FanDuel |
---|---|---|
January | $48.3 million | $42.9 million |
February | $50.3 million | $48.4 million |
March | $54.7 million | $57.6 million |
April | $49.8 million | $50.7 million |
May | $51.6 million | $51.5 million |
June | $47.9 million | $45.6 million |
Total | $302.6 million | $296.7 million |
While the two operators are neck-and-neck, the addition of new games such as MGM Bonus City should help BetMGM’s cause in the Great Lakes State.
PlayMichigan is expecting a photo finish by December.
