Ford Field will be one of nine NFL stadiums promoting BetMGM’s responsible gambling program this season.
The leading Michigan online casino operator will promote its GameSense program at the home of the Detroit Lions throughout the 2023-24 season.
MGM Resorts and BetMGM are among the first operators to promote responsible gambling through marketing inside NFL venues.
“This is an extraordinary moment as we work with our team partners to raise awareness about responsible gaming,” said Rhea Loney, BetMGM’s chief compliance officer. “Throughout the season, GameSense will play a pivotal role in reminding football fans who bet, to do so responsibly.”
GameSense has been providing responsible gambling information since 2017
GameSense was first developed and licensed to MGM Resorts in 2017 by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The program gives players continued access to information, tools, and resources that guide informed decision making and healthy gambling habits.
In 2022, BetMGM integrated GameSense into its digital platforms. That only compound the success of the program. GameSense offers players information on how to set responsible gaming limits, while dispelling common gambling misconceptions.
In April of this year, BetMGM reported it provides responsible gaming information to more than 100,000 customers each month through website visits and email interactions.
“Since integrating GameSense into BetMGM, we’ve noticed significant and positive results,” said Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM. “With the continued expansion of sports betting and iGaming, our commitment to responsible gaming practices has never been more important.”
Further, GameSense messaging and responsible gaming tips are also available on:
- 35,000 television screens in MGM Resorts hotel rooms across the country; and
- 22,000 slot machines (8,500 feature QR codes that offer access to extended educational materials)
Also, all MGM-family employees receive comprehensive and research-based responsible gaming training throughout the year.
And, the program continues to expand. Over the past 12 months, 62,000 staffers completed the program, with 300-plus earning the highest certification of GameSense Advisor.

It’s all part of BetMGM and MGM Resorts’ partnership with the American Gaming Association to increase responsible gambling awareness. September is Responsible Gaming Education Month.
Additionally, the MGM family is committing more than $1 million annually to fund a variety of problem gambling initiatives and responsible gaming campaigns. This includes research, advocacy, prevention, marketing, and organizational support.
“The landscape of the gaming industry has evolved dramatically in recent years with the broad legalization of online gambling and sports betting,” said MGM Resorts’ senior vice president and chief compliance officer Stephen Martino. “Collaboration among operators and stakeholders is essential to ensure that responsible gaming remains a top priority. These efforts are vital to giving guests, customers, employees, and companies the tools and information needed for a safe and enjoyable experience.”
