Soaring Eagle Leads List Of Michigan’s 5 Biggest Casino Gaming Floors

The state of Michigan is home to a total of 26 retail casinos.

Throughout all areas of the state, both in the Upper Peninsula and Lower Peninsula, you can find retail casino options.

But, which Michigan casinos are the biggest?

The size of the casinos varies a great deal, with some under 5,000 square feet.

Currently the state has five retail casinos that feature over 100,000 square feet of gaming floor.

Here’s a look at the five largest casino gaming floors in Michigan.

1. Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort

Located in Mount Pleasant at 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd, Soaring Eagle Casino is home to the largest gaming floor in Michigan.

According to Soaring Eagle, it features 210,000 square feet of gaming space.

Soaring Eagle has a wide variety of gaming options, including over 3,300 slot machines and 70 table games.

Along with the classics, Soaring Eagle features a live poker room and a bingo hall as well.

You can also find Ascend Sportsbook, Soaring Eagle’s retail sportsbook option if you want to wager on sports events in person.

Soaring Eagle also features a 516-room hotel and seven different restaurant and dining options. As of Monday, Ruth’s Chris Streak House is now open at Soaring Eagle.

Soaring Eagle also is one of the top casino venues for entertainment. The resort regularly is putting on concerts and events, including its outdoor summer concert series.

2. MGM Grand Detroit

Michigan features a total of three retail casinos in Detroit. Of the three, the largest is the MGM Grand Detroit at 1777 3rd Ave.

Featuring 147,000 square feet of gaming floor, the MGM Grand comes in second amongst all casinos in the state.

Throughout the casino floor you can find over 2,950 slots and table games to choose from. The MGM Grand Detroit also includes a poker room and the BetMGM Sports Lounge, which features live betting through BetMGM Sportsbook.

A 400-room hotel is attached to the casino in downtown Detroit. The MGM Grand Detroit also features four different restaurant options, as well as a food court.

The Event Center can play host to concerts and top comedians, and a TopGolf Swing Suite is available for virtual golf.

3. Four Winds Casino New Buffalo

Four Winds features three retail casinos in Southern Michigan, none of which are bigger than Four Winds Casino New Buffalo.

Located at 11111 Wilson Road in New Buffalo, this Four Winds ranks third in size with 130,000 square feet of gaming floor.

Inside the floor you can play over 3,000 different slot and table games. The New Buffalo location also includes Four Winds Sportsbook, the only retail sportsbook of the three Four Winds casinos.

Attached to the New Buffalo location is a hotel with 415 guest rooms. Four Winds New Buffalo also offers four restaurants and a market inside the location.

You can also find the Silver Creek Event Center at the New Buffalo location, which is home to regular live concerns featuring popular names from the past and present.

4. Gun Lake Casino

Located at 1123 129th Ave. in Wayland, Gun Lake Casino comes in fourth on our list with 108,500 square feet of gaming floor.

Gun Lake has a vast gaming library with over 2,500 slots and table games. It also features a poker room and a retail sportsbook in 131 Sportsbook.

Inside the casino you can find four different dining options, including a buffet.

While Gun Lake doesn’t currently have a hotel, it is in the midst of a large $300 million expansion project.

As part of the expansion, Gun Lake will be adding a 15-floor hotel as well as an Aquadome. The Aquadome will include three different indoor pools, but will also be able to convert into a concert venue.

The expansion is projected to be ready for guests in March of 2025.

5. FireKeepers Casino Hotel

Coming in a narrow fifth is FireKeepers Casino Hotel located at 11177 E Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek.

FireKeepers features 107,000 square feet of gaming floor.

Like the others on this list, FireKeepers has a lot of gaming options to consider, with over 3,000 slots and table games on the floor.

Included in the casino is a poker room, as well as Dacey’s Sportsbook where you can place all your sports betting options.

FireKeepers also has a large hotel with 446 guest rooms available. It also features seven different dining options, including a cake shop.

The Events Center at FireKeepers brings some of the top names in comedy and music to the venue regularly throughout the year.
