Bet both Champions Classic games, then hope for 3s

Caesars has a special promotion going for the annual season-opening hoops extravaganza involving four premier national programs: Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky and Duke.

In this season’s matchups, the Spartans and Jayhawks open proceedings at 7 p.m., with the Kentucky-Duke game following afterward.

The idea is straightforward enough: You’ll get a shot at a hefty free bet opportunity the more 3-pointers are made tonight.

To qualify, you must bet at least $25 on the spread outcome of each game (so, a total of $50 or more). As of Tuesday midday, Kansas was a 4-point favorite over Tom Izzo’s bunch, and Duke was a 3-point favorite over John Calipari’s Kentucky squad.

From there, just sit back and channel the positive vibes for points. Because for every 3-pointer made — every one, no matter whom you bet for — you get $3 toward a collective free bet to use within the next 7 days.

How much in free bets can you expect?

Just to emphasize, Caesars gave a scenario that involved 35 triples being made among the four teams tonight, and that would indeed mean a $105 free bet for down the line.

For fun, we looked up the 3-point averages from these four schools last year. It’s not the best apples-to-apples exercise, given roster turnover in college hoops, but it’s at least something of a baseline.

The four schools averaged a combined 28.8 made 3-pointers in games last season, which would amount to an $87 free bet on rounding that figure up to 29 for these purposes. Not too shabby, although Kentucky and Michigan State both ranked below 250th in Division I at averaging just 6.4 made longballs per contest. (Duke made 8.4 3s and Kansas 7.6, in case you were wondering.)

All the same, this feature is among the higher-return promo offers you’ll see at Caesars, even by its own bonus-friendly standards.

Use real money in this Caesars Sportsbook promo

About the only disclaimer to watch out for here is to make sure you use real money from your account to make the $25 or more spread wagers on these games to qualify for the free bet. Using other free bets or bonus tokens will render you ineligible.

And don’t both-sides this game at any point either, as betting elsewhere on these games in the Caesars Sportsbook app could be deemed a disqualifying act.

But that’s OK. The first tipoffs of NCAA basketball season should be about enjoying the moment, anyway. And with this betting promo, you ought to be able to kick back and soak it all in.
