Eagle Casino & Sports Soaring To Start Its Second Year Of Operation

It’s now been more than a year since Eagle Casino & Sports went live in Michigan. That gives us plenty of data to assess how successful that “local” brand has performed in the state’s gaming industry.

In June, Eagle Casino reported $3 million in revenue, a 50% increase from the same month in 2022. That’s only revenue from online casino gaming, which shows the app is gaining in popularity and trust.

With such tremendous growth in the Michigan online casino market, is Eagle Casino poised to scramble even higher on the list of casino apps in the state? With such momentum, it’s possible Eagle Casino could challenge Four Winds for the title as top local in-state casino brand?

Eagle Casino & Sports a strong ‘local’ Michigan online casino brand

The Eagle Casino & Sports app is operated by Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, which is owned by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan.

The desktop version is also known as PlayEagle, and offers customers the ability to play casino-style games or place wagers on sports in the sportsbook, just like the mobile application. Eagle Casino & Sports is available both for iOS and Android devices.

All the success benefits the state: The $35.4 million in lifetime online casino revenue Eagle Casino has won since launching in April of 2022 has resulted in more than $6 million in taxes paid to Lansing.

The leaders among non-commercial, national-branded gaming apps in Michigan had been Four Winds and Firekeepers. They have accumulated $76.5 million and $32.8 million, respectively, in lifetime Michigan online casino revenue. Eagle Casino has already surpassed FireKeepers, despite the latter getting a 10-month head start.

From May of 2022 through April of 2023, the first 12 full months of Eagle Casino & Sports being under operation, it brought in $29.6 million of online casino revenue. Four Winds had $37.5 million in revenue during the same timeframe, while FireKeepers had just under $18 million.

Most encouraging for Soaring Eagle: the Eagle Casino & Sports app has had multiple months where it’s even topped PokerStars in revenue. PokerStars is an international gaming brand that operates in several states and also across the globe. It’s known for its real-money, interstate online poker, which allows players from Michigan to play against each other, as well as players from New Jersey.

Eagle Casino & Sports Offers More Casino Games Than DraftKings

But the Eagle Casino app is not a lightweight: it offers nearly 700 casino games, including the most popular slots titles. That library of online games, available for play from the phone you hold in your hand, exceeds the offerings from DraftKings, FanDuel, and other leading brands in Michigan.

This year, Eagle Casino & Sports has reported $16 million in revenue from casino gaming alone. Monthly revenue has not dropped below $2.4 million in any month. In 2022, the app only recorded three months of at least $2.4 million in revenue, though in Oct. 2022 it had its best month to date, at $3.011 million.

Last July, Eagle Casino reported $2.143 million in revenue. If the brand continues to show 50% growth, it could set a new monthly record this July.
