FanDuel down in Michigan

FanDuel Sportsbook MI experienced technical issues on Sunday during the thick of Week 13 of the NFL season.

The issues caused FanDuel to be down for multiple hours overlapping between the end of the 1 p.m. NFL games and the start of the 4 p.m. slate.

With FanDuel being the top-drawing Michigan sportsbook site, the tech issues likely led to a lot of lost handle.

FanDuel Michigan Sportsbook down multiple hours

Customers of FanDuel Sportsbook MI started experiencing issues with the site around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Only Michigan’s site appears to have been having issues, which FanDuel acknowledged at 2:57 p.m.

The tech issues lasted multiple hours, with FanDuel reporting that they were resolved at 5:29 p.m.

Attempts for comment from FanDuel have not been returned as of this writing. We will update this story with additional information as we get it.

How the issues impacted sports betting customers

With FanDuel Michigan down for multiple hours, it impacted users in multiple ways.

The most obvious issue is with users being able to apply bets during that stretch.

That would involve live betting of the 1 p.m. games, as well as pregame wagers for the 4 p.m. contest.

Another issue is those looking to cash out bets during the 1 p.m. slate for wagers that looked promising but had not yet been completed. That could involve spread bets, money line bets and parlays.

Will FanDuel refund customers?

FanDuel has not commented on if it intends to refund any users over the issue, or offer up bonuses to make up for the time down.

Should FanDuel respond to our inquiries, we will provide an update on if it has plans to compensate customers in any way.

Sports betting customers voiced their desires for something in return to the FanDuel Customer Support Twitter feed.

FanDuel remains Michigan’s top sportsbook

This is a noticeable bit of bad press for FanDuel, which has been Michigan’s all-time leading sportsbook when it comes to handle and revenue.

FanDuel Sportsbook MI has accounted for $1.92 billion in online sports betting handle since launching in January of 2021.

That has led to $194.5 million in online sports betting revenue.

FanDuel, along with retail partner MotorCity Casino, has led Michigan in sports betting handle for the last 11 months.
