Wednesday night could produce an intriguing storyline in the Wolverine State for Michigan Lottery players. The Lotto 47 jackpot is at a new record.
If anyone matches all six numbers, they stand to win an estimated $29 million. Many Michiganders could win smaller prizes with their game tickets.

Lotto 47, Double Play and EZmatch: How it works
Sales for the 7:29 p.m. ET drawing on Nov. 4 continued through 7:08 p.m. ET. Players can purchase $1 tickets either online or at a MI lottery retailer.
Players who opt to purchase their tickets in person can also buy a shot at the Double Play for another dollar. That gives the player a chance at an additional nightly drawing for an additional cash prize of up to $1.5 million.
EZmatch is another way Michiganders can make their plays more lucrative. For an additional dollar, a player can win $500 instantly.
To win the estimated $29 million jackpot, a player must match all six Lotto 47 numbers. The MI online lottery lists the odds of doing so at 1:10,737,573. There are other prizes, however, for matching fewer numbers. Those are:
- Match three numbers: Odds of 1:5 and prize is $5
- Match four numbers: Odds of 1:873 and prize is $100
- Match five numbers: Odds of 1:43,649 and prize is $2,500
If no one wins the prize tonight, the jackpot will continue to increase until someone does match all six numbers. The next drawing is set for Saturday, Nov. 7.
What to do if you win the jackpot in Wednesday’s Lotto 47 drawing
After the drawing, any player who matches all six numbers would need to contact the lottery to claim her/his prize.
Due to COVID-19, Michigan Lottery claim centers are closed for walk-in traffic. Winners of prizes of $100,000 or more need to call the lottery at (844) 887-6836 to make an appointment.
The $29.04 million estimate would break the Michigan Lotto 47 record of $23.6 million claimed on March 1, 2008. The last time anyone matched all six numbers was March of this year when a Macomb County man took home $3.4 million.
Here are the rest of the top four Lotto 47 wins in the history of the game:
- March 2017: $22.5 million
- August 2019:$17.1 million
- August 2013: $13.3 million
Some lucky Michigander could add November 2020 to that list tonight. The odds are long, but eventually, someone has to win this jackpot.
Buying online or at a retailer, remember to play responsibly. And good luck!
