Michigan online poker continues to thrive, and more proof of that will be on display later this month when the second World Series of Poker Michigan Online Circuit Series runs May 13-24.

The series will be offering one WSOP Gold Ring event each day, with those 12 events combining for $510,000 in guaranteed prize money.

That includes the $100,000 Guaranteed Main Event, which features a $525 buy-in, on Sunday, May 22.

WSOP MI Online Circuit Series Event Schedule

Play kicks off at WSOP MI on Friday, May 13, with a $215 buy-in, No-Limit Hold’em Turbo, the only turbo event of the series. The event features a $20K guaranteed prize pool, the smallest of the series along with the May 23 event, which has a $109 buy-in.

On the other side of the buy-in spectrum, the final event on May 24 is the $1,000 buy-in NLH High Roller 6-Max.

All ring events are no-limit hold’em this time around, four of which are of the progressive knockout (PKO) persuasion. Each one begins at 7 p.m.

WSOP Gold Rings and Tournament of Champions seats up for grabs

Just like on the live circuit, online poker players in Michigan will have an opportunity each night to win a WSOP Circuit gold ring, one of the more iconic prizes in the poker world.

Every WSOP Michigan Online Circuit Series winner will also automatically qualify for the “Tournament of Champions” $1 million freeroll tournament, which is open only to live and online circuit winners. That event will run July 18, the final event of the 2022 WSOP in Las Vegas, Nev.

Building on success of April’s WSOP MI Online Circuit

May’s WSOP MI Circuit Series comes less than two months after WSOP MI opened for business, and it looks to follow in the footsteps of last month’s inaugural circuit series.

Like the upcoming series, April’s also guaranteed $510,000 in total prizes, though with a different schedule of events. Its 12 events created a total of $824,653 in awarded prize money, more than 61% above what was promised.

When will interstate poker come to Michigan?

Michigan was accepted into the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) held between Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware on April 6, less than two weeks after WSOP MI launched.

Such an announcement seemed inevitable after Michigan online poker went live in January 2021 with state laws including the possibility for interstate expansion from the very beginning.

Despite the excitement of joining the MSIGA, however, the state still remains ring-fenced and will remain that way until given additional licensing requirements as mandated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

When online poker sites in Michigan do eventually get everything squared away, players in all involved states will surely benefit. Michigan’s population of nearly 10 million will become a significant boost to the current player pool. New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware’s populations are roughly 13 million combined.
