Michigan’s gambling authority is running out of room in its trophy case. On Thursday, the Michigan Gaming Control Board announced that its ‘Don’t Regret the Bet’ responsible gambling campaign received yet another award for excellence in marketing.
Its latest honor is a PRNEWS Digital Award for finishing first in the Facebook Platform Presence category.
PRNEWS Digital Award is seventh honor for campaign
So far, the ‘Don’t Regret the Bet’ initiative has been nothing short of a resounding success. And, the most recent of its many successes, stands as the campaign’s seventh overall honor.
“We are deeply honored to receive this PRNEWS Digital Award for our efforts in promoting responsible gaming,” said Sandra Johnson, manager of MGCB’s Responsible Gaming Section in a release.
“At the core of our mission is a dedication to ensuring that gaming remains an enjoyable and safe activity for all. This recognition motivates us to continue our work in advocating for responsible gaming practices and supporting those in need.”
Earlier this year, King Media spoke to PlayMichigan about the marketing initiative.
This year, Don’t Regret the Bet has already received AVA Digital Platinum Awards in both the Digital Marketing Campaign and Creativity in Web Design categories.
It was more of the same in 2023. The project earned four awards from the three separate firms in its debut year, including:
- A Viddy Platinum Award in the Integrated Marketing category
- A MarCom Platinum Award in the Digital Marketing Campaign category
- Two dotCOMM Platinum Awards – one in the Digital Marketing Campaign category and one in the Website Elements/Microsite category
Recently, it was also announced that the campaign is a finalist for a Shorty Award. The Shorty winners will be announced on May 22. If the Don’t Regret the Bet campaign wins that award, too, it will have already matched its 2023 awards output by May.
MGCB and King’s work stood out amongst deep pool of competition
The heralded responsible gambling campaign is a collaboration between the MGCB and King Media. The marketing effort topped a diverse selection of digital media campaigns and competitors from around the globe to secure the PRNEWS distinction.
“This recognition underscores our commitment to promoting safe and responsible gaming practices within our community and beyond,” said MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams.
“Thanks to Coleen [King] and her talented team at King Media, we’ve created engaging content and informative posts that are successfully reaching a wide audience on Facebook and beyond, sparking meaningful conversations and encouraging positive change.”
