Casino President, Matt Buckley, said he is excited about the new addition to the property as part of its 25th anniversary. He also alluded that more is coming.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are thrilled to bring such a monumental addition to our casino floor,” Buckley said in a press release emailed to PlayMichigan. “Introducing this $1 million jackpot slot machine is just one of the many surprises we have in store for our guests this year.”

MGM Grand ranks as top Detroit casino

Among the three Detroit casinos, MGM Grand is at the top, in terms of revenue. In June, it produced the following revenue totals, compared to the other two properties:

  • MGM Grand Detroit: $48.7 million
  • MotorCity Casino: $31.5 million
  • Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $24.4 million

MGM Grand Detroit is the only casino of the bunch that has exceeded $300 million in total revenue through June. It’s the third straight year the property has crossed that threshold in the first six months. Excluding pandemic years in 2o20 and 2o21, it would be the fifth straight year. It is on pace to generate $602 million by the end of 2024.

MotorCity Casino has recorded $195 million as Hollywood Casino at Greektown posted $148.7 million through June.

MGM Grand Detroit is easily considered the No. 1 property in Detroit. It’s only enhancing its status with new and exciting games offerings such as this latest one.
