Casino War And Football Collide In New BetMGM Michigan Game

Evolution has mixed football with the beginner card game “War” for its First Person Football Studio online casino game.

The American football-based table game is available only at BetMGM Michigan Casino. A version of the game under the same name, but based on soccer, can be found at several Michigan online casinos.

It’s a simple game with a straightforward interface. It also arrived just in time to take advantage of heavier sports betting traffic at the apps for football season.

The object of First Person Football Studio is simple: pick whether the home or away team will draw the higher card.

If you’re right, you double your money. If you’re wrong, the house wins.

There’s not a lot of skill involved, although a tracker at the top does show you the past several draws went.

Before you place any bets, however, you will be asked to cut the shoe of eight decks.

Once the cards are cut, select your stakes, which can be as low as $0.20 and as high as $2,500. Choose either home, away or draw. Home and away each pay 1:1, while a correct draw pays 11:1. A draw when you’ve selected either home or away results in getting half your stake returned.

You can even bet on all three on the same hand, if you want.

After your bet is placed, hit the “deal” button and it will give each side a card.

That’s it. That’s the game.

Combining football themes with War card game

The Evolution website, in selling the soccer version of the game, notes that First Person Football Studio can appeal to sportsbook customers.

For the soccer version, this makes sense. That features a score bug and news ticker for international and club soccer. The football version, however, does not have this feature, and the only appeal to Michigan sports bettors would be the visuals.

The playing surface is a football field, which is a fun twist on a table game. There is a repetitive rock music track that plays during the game, which is reminiscent of what you would hear in a sports video game from the late 1990s. And after each hand is dealt, a woman’s voice lets you know who wins.

Live dealer game coming?

There is a button to take you to the live dealer version of the game, but the game isn’t available in that space. At least not yet.

Quite a show is made of taking you to the live dealer lobby, however, as the game zooms you into a hallway before showing you all of BetMGM Casino‘s other live dealer options.

First person soccer game also available

The soccer version of the game has been available from Evolution since 2020, and it does give you more, visually.

That’s highlighted by the aforementioned score bug and news ticker. The soccer version also accepts a maximum bet up to $5,000.

But, like its football counterpart, clicking “Go Live” only takes you to a live dealer lobby which doesn’t include a live version of the game.

The soccer version is available at the following Michigan online casinos: BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, BetRivers, WynnBET, Barstool and Eagle Casino & Sports.
