Price Is Right, Great Bear Among New Michigan Online Casino Slot Games

Written By Drew Ellis on August 2, 2022

Michigan online casinos are always updating their menu of game options.

That is especially true when it comes to slot games, which see constant additions per operator.

I sat down recently to try some of the new additions and give my take on what they have to offer.

*Games were played on a demo version to get a full experience of what they have to offer.

Great Bear slot game

A 2021 game from IGT, Great Bear is a popular new option around many of the online casinos in Michigan.

Great Bear features a 3×5 grid with different icons of animals in the wild. Not included among those is Bear Grylls.

Those selected animals are put into a hierarchy to the left, building up to the Great Bear at the top. Each Great Bear icon is a Wild.

When you get a winning line, the winning icons may upgrade to the next level in the hierarchy. It can continue to do this and add more winning tiles until you get up to the Great Bear. With each upgrade, the value of your win increases.

The Great Bear Bonus round gives you at least five guaranteed free spins with upgrades persisting throughout the bonus.

Coin value varies from a penny to $10, with each spin costing your choice from from 40 cents to $400.

Great Bear features 20 pay lines and medium volatility with a 94.5% RTP.

Unfortunately for me, Great Bear was a bit of a great pain. Wins weren’t terribly frequent and the wins that came weren’t enough to make a dent in the losses.

The Price Is Right now available at Michigan online casinos

A new addition to some of the popular online casinos in Michigan is one of America’s greatest game shows.

IGT came up with The Price is Right slot game in 2019 and it welcomes you with that iconic theme music.

You are then asked to “Come on down” by the current announcer that is not the loveable scamp Rod Roddy, the real voice of the show.

The show’s theme song doesn’t play throughout the game, as that might drive you insane after a while. But there is a groovy tune to listen to while you navigate a 3×5 grid.

Icons include a car, a jet ski, a bike, and a Wild symbol, along with the playing card icons you’d need for a royal flush.

The show’s legendary host, Bob Barker, is no where to be found. Nor is current host Drew Carey, whose charisma just couldn’t be contained in a slot machine.

The real treat of the game is the bonus feature, which then allows you to choose from three classic Price is Right games. They are Punch a Bunch, Plinko and Cliff Hanger.

Plinko is a no-doubter. Cliff Hanger is as well just for the yodeling. Punch a Bunch is questionable, but it makes sense in this platform. Each bonus is to set you up with a multiplier for bonus spins. You also get a crack at the Big Wheel to add to your multiplier even further. If you’re really lucky, you can get to the top prize of 1000x multiplier.

Line costs range from a penny to $5. With 25 lines, each spin can cost from 25 cents to $125.

RTP is 94.78% and the game has medium volatility.

Not all slots properly encompass the shows they represent, but Price is Right does an adequate job.

Play Ted at BetMGM online casino

In the world of “really?”, BetMGM Michigan offers up a Ted online slot.

Yes, Ted. The movie about a foul-mouthed stuffed bear that was best friends with Mark Wahlberg. That somehow also got a sequel. That Seth MacFarlane can sell anything.

MacFarlane’s voice is all you get here, as none of the other actors shockingly agreed to be featured on this game.

You can wager anywhere from 20 cents to $200 per spin. A medium volatility game with a 95.81% RTP, Ted does offer a lot of bells and whistles.

It’s another 3×5 grid that features Ted sleeping below the game screen. Should you wake him up, he can trigger one of six modifiers.

  • Lazer Gun Infectious Wilds
  • Psychedelic Super Spin
  • Beer Shuffle
  • Psychedelic Colossal Spin
  • TV Streak
  • Psychedelic Bonus Boost

The standard game has 20 paylines that move up to 40 during the bonus level, where you get to spin the Thunder Buddies Bonus Wheel.

While this game seems like a ridiculous concept, it did keep me entertained. I’d expect to see a Family Guy slot game in the near future.

New slot game: Zodiac Infinity Reels

From ReelPlay, Zodiac Infinity Reels was a nice change of pace from the other three games.

It had the feel of a classic spinner, but featured a lot of winning options and a soothing background sound.

You start by selecting your astrological sign. I stayed honest and went with mine, Taurus. That symbol then acts as a wild. A 4×3 grid is presented.

The goal is to get at least three matching symbols on the reels. Should you get a winning symbol on the last reel on the right, another reel is added. If you get another winning symbol or wild symbol, it keeps adding reels and winning multipliers to your current win.

The real joy comes when you get to 13 reels, as you automatically get the 888x Infinity Jackpot. I actually managed to do this and won over $1,800 on a spin. If only I had the guts to play with my own money during these reviews.

If you get three wheels during any spin (including in the added infinity reels) you go to a bonus round and spin the Great Wheel. That features up to five different levels where you can add free spins and win multipliers to the base of eight free spins.

You have the option to select anywhere from 25 cents to $60 per spin. The RTP is 95.57% with medium volatility.

I enjoyed this game as you don’t have to think about weird winning lines. It’s simply acquiring multiples of a specific icon. The game also provides a scoreboard for you as the spin is happening, so you also don’t have to do the guessing.

For medium volatility, I felt I won pretty frequently. Even without the big $1,800+ win, I also had multiple wins of over $25 on a $2 spin.

Plus, the music is quite soothing. It’s like something out of a ASMR video. So, it managed to relax me while potentially taking my “money.” I will definitely be revisiting this game with my own money at some point, and am expecting a much worse experience.
