Michigan online casinos recorded a third consecutive record month of revenue with $152.8 million in December.
That’s a 5.1% increase from November’s previous record of $145.4 million.
For all of 2022, Michigan online casinos tallied $1.58 billion in revenue, a whopping 42.1% increase from 2021’s $1.11 billion.
“Online casinos in Michigan finished the year incredibly strong, eclipsing $1.5 billion in revenue in 2022,” said Paul Costanzo, lead analyst for PlayMichigan. “The growth each month was steady throughout the year, but it managed to take off even more down the stretch with three straight record months, which bodes well for the future of the industry”

Three takeaways from December Michigan online casino revenue report
BetMGM crosses the $1 billion mark
BetMGM has plenty of reasons to celebrate, as it became the first Michigan online casino operator to cross the $1 billion mark in revenue.
Its $54.4 million mark in December put it at $589 million for all of 2022. It also pushed its 2-year total to just over $1 billion. The actual total sits at $1,006,111,563.
BetMGM Michigan has led the revenue race in the state every month since online casinos launched in January of 2021. It accounts for 37.3% of Michigan’s $2.7 billion in online casino revenue over its lifetime.
Big names record big months
The record month for Michigan was sparked by surges from some of its biggest online operators.
BetMGM Michigan, FanDuel Casino MI, DraftKings Casino MI and Caesars Casino MI each set record revenue months in their own right.
- BetMGM: $54.4 million
- FanDuel: $29 million
- DraftKings: $26.2 million
- Caesars: $7.2 million
In the case of Michigan’s power operator, BetMGM, it set a new record for the third consecutive month as well. BetMGM has crossed the $50 million mark in its last three months as well.
Both DraftKings and Caesars made big jumps in their record months. DraftKings moved up nearly $3 million from its previous best of $23.3 million in November. Caesars jumped up from its previous record of $6.5 million in May of 2022.
Gun Lake takes a drop
It wasn’t all great news for the online casino operators last month.
Gun Lake’s online casino recorded just $520,248 in revenue. That’s a 73% drop from November’s $1.9 million in revenue.
December’s total is also the lowest recorded by Gun Lake since May of 2021, which was its first full month of operation.
