Usually these stories involve a quick stop at the gas station, but the latest Michigan Lottery millionaire came from a few quick strikes on the keyboard.
Lottery representatives are now looking to track down the lucky winner, who purchased a Lotto 47 ticket through the online lottery and won the $1.2 million jackpot from Wednesday’s drawing.
One ticket matched the winning numbers: 05-06-11-36-40-47. The player should contact the Michigan Lottery at 517-373-1237 to set up an appointment to claim their prize. Lotto 47 tickets are valid for one year from the date of the drawing.
This is the second time the Lotto 47 jackpot has been won by an online player. In December, a Wayne County player purchased a winning $2.5 million Lotto 47 jackpot ticket online.
From long Lotto 47 drought to two jackpot wins
It’s funny how these sorts of things sometimes work when it comes to long-odds drawings. The Lotto 47 jackpot, which comes from a base ticket purchase of $1, had gone without its ultimate prize since January until a Roscommon County player won $18.41 million three weeks ago.
And now, less than three weeks later, the jackpot was nailed again. The odds of winning the jackpot, for the record, are about 1 in 10.7 million. So, two wins in a month is certainly worthy of a second glance.
According to the Michigan Lottery database, by the way, we’re now up over three dozen millionaires in the state so far in 2021.
Lotto 47 drawings held Wednesdays, Saturdays
Lotto 47 tickets are $1. For an additional $1, Double Play can be added, giving players a second chance to win up to $1.5 million in the nightly Double Play drawing.
For an additional $1 per game, players can add EZMatch to their ticket for a chance to win up to $500 instantly.
Lotto 47 drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:29 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at a retailer or online at MichiganLottery.com until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
