PokerStars Now Featuring $1 Million In Weekly Guarantees For MI And NJ

PokerStars MI is not resting on its laurels following the successful launch of a shared player pool between Michigan and New Jersey online poker players.

Michigan’s online poker leader announced Friday it will be offering a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million across its weekly tournaments.

It’s the largest weekly guarantee in US online poker.

The Jan. 1 launch of interstate poker between players in Michigan and New Jersey was a huge success for PokerStars MI, as traffic was well above normal throughout January.

PokerStars also recently completed its first series featuring Michigan and New Jersey players, the Online PSPC.

It’s wasting little time capitalizing on that momentum with the newly announced $1 million weekly guarantees.

“We are excited to announce that we will be guaranteeing $1 million per week across our tournaments for our shared Michigan and New Jersey pool,” Severin Rasset, Managing Director for PokerStars in the US, said in a release. “The combined liquidity of NJ (and) MI enables us to reinforce our weekly schedule with more tournaments available every day, a wider variety of buy-ins, bigger guarantee and giving our players the best available in the market.”

PokerStars also announced in the release that Pennsylvania, which is a ring-fenced online poker state, will have $500K in weekly guarantees.

The $1 million in guarantees will be split up over several daily and weekly tournament offerings at PokerStars. Those feature buy-ins ranging from $5 to $250.

These tournaments are on top of the daily cash games, Sit & Go and Spin & Go games that PokerStars offers.
