Most Detroit Lions fans have longed for the return of Barry Sanders since the day he retired from the NFL.
While the MGM Grand Detroit can’t make that miracle happen, it’s doing the next best thing.
MGM Grand Detroit is opening the Barry Sanders Booth at the BetMGM Sports Lounge, located inside the casino. This will be a unique game day viewing option for avid sports bettors in Michigan to enjoy their NFL Sunday.
What is the Barry Sanders Booth at MGM Grand Detroit?
The Barry Sanders Booth will be exclusive to the BetMGM Sports Lounge at the MGM Grand Detroit.
It will be a private seating area that is surrounded by memorabilia signed by the Hall of Fame running back.
“We pride ourselves on providing our guests with unique offerings and are honored to have a legend like Barry Sanders as a part of this elevated experience,” said Carter Bair, Vice President of Marketing at MGM Grand Detroit. “This addition complements our other amenities and gaming offerings to make a memorable day out of watching the game.”
This booth is the latest addition to the BetMGM Sports Lounge. It already includes a Chris Chelios Booth and Jalen Rose Booth.
Fans that reserve the Barry Sanders Booth for a Sunday at the BetMGM Sports Lounge will receive the following perks with their reservation:
- Barry Sanders VIP Booth for 8 hours on Sunday
- $500 food and beverage credit
- Barry Sanders signed mini helmet
- $100 BetMGM Michigan online bonus wager
- BetMGM swag bag
- Sunday night hotel room stay

Along with the unveiling of the Barry Sanders Booth, the BetMGM Sports Lounge has a few other promotions taking place during the football season.
Beat the Book is a promotion that gives fans the opportunity to win their share of $15,000 in property slot play. All you need to do is enter your NFL picks and select more winning teams than the sportsbook.
Winners will also be entered to receive BetMGM and MGM Grand Detroit gift cards, or the Grand Prize trip to Las Vegas for Super Bowl weekend.
The promotion started Sept. 6 and runs through Jan. 10, 2023.
On Saturdays and Sundays, BetMGM Sports Lounge and TAP at MGM Grand Detroit will feature a live stadium-style DJ event.
Each of the days will include:
- Giveaways for retail and online wagers
- Football tickets
- Weekly food and drink specials
These events will take place on Saturdays now until Nov. 26. They also take place on Sundays now through Jan. 8, 2023.
