Bay Mills Resort & Casinos

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos is a resort and casino complex in Brimley, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Superior’s Waiska Bay.

It features two casinos, including the Kings Club Casino, which opened on July 4, 1984, as the first legal Native American casino in the country. It was originally called the Bay Mills Blackjack Casino.

The Bay Mills casino and hotel opened in November 1995 just two miles down the shore. Bay Mills Resort & Casinos is owned and operated by the Bay Mills Indian Community.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos features 17,000 square feet of gaming space with around 700 slots and a dozen table games. There are multiple restaurants on the property, an RV park, and a hotel with 144 rooms. Kings Club features 280 slots, a full service bar and the Chums Cafe restaurant.

In December 2019, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed sports betting and online gambling bills into law. Bay Mills Resort & Casinos expressed excitement about the opportunity in a statement.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos General Manager Richard LeBlanc said the new opportunities will modernize Bay Mills’ gaming business and enable it to offer exciting new games to its customers. He went on to thank Whitmer and others, adding that Bay Mills Resort & Casinos plans to hit the ground running and will be announcing new gaming opportunities in the near future.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos is located at 11386 W. Lakeshore Drive in Brimley, Michigan. Gaming is available from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos online gambling partnerships

Together with SG Interactive, a division of Scientific Games Corp., Bay Mills Resort & Casinos has launched a free-play online casino using the SG Universe Play4Fun Network social gaming platform.

The Bay Mills Play4Fun site now offers players a social casino experience available online and with mobile devices anchored by the same casino games found on the gaming floors at Bay Mills Resort & Casinos. It does not feature real money gaming.

In fact, the two sides have yet to announce plans to launch a real money online casino, online sportsbook or retail sportsbook using Scientific Games technology since Michigan sports betting and online gambling bills became law.

However, LeBlanc said Bay Mills will be announcing new gaming opportunities in the near future.

Members of the Funcard Players Club start earning points immediately at slots or table games. The more you play, the more you receive.

You also earn comps and points at the same time. Comps can be used for rooms, golf, food or beverages using your Funcard and a photo ID right at the register. No comp coupons are required.

Funcard features four tiers with benefits that include:

  • Lake Michigan Card: Receive $5 in free play just for signing up. Earn $1 in comps for every $300 in slot play, win or lose.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos Sportsbook

When Michigan sports betting and online gambling bills became law, Bay Mills Resort & Casinos management said it was excited about the opportunity.

LeBlanc, Bay Mills’ general manager, said it plans to hit the ground running and will be announcing new gaming opportunities in the near future.

Since then, the Detroit News has reported Bay Mills Resort & Casinos will be launching a new retail sportsbook sometime in July 2020.

It could be at the existing Back Bay Grill & Games waterfront sports bar on the property. The Upper Peninsula’s only waterfront sports bar is already a great place to watch sports with several 50″ flat-screen HDTVs and a full food and beverage menu.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos has yet to announce any partnership deals for online casino or online and mobile sports betting operations.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos poker room

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos runs a small four-table poker room with Texas Hold ’em Re-Buy Tournaments every Tuesday and Bounty Tournaments every Friday. There are also $1/$2 Texas Hold ’em cash games Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.

The Tuesday tournament features a $20 buy-in with unlimited $20 re-buys until the first break. The Bounty Tournaments cost $45 to enter, and unlimited reentry is available before the first break. Bonuses are provided to those who play three hours of live cash game poker the previous Friday.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos history

The Bay Mills Indian Community opened the Bay Mills Blackjack Casino on July 4, 1984. It was the first US gaming facility owned by a Native American tribe to include slots and blackjack games instead of just bingo.

It is now the Kings Club Casino and part of the Bay Mills Resort & Casinos complex that opened just two miles away in November 1995.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos now includes two casinos, a hotel, an RV park, a championship golf course and five dining options.

Bay Mills Resort & Casinos has also launched a free-play online casino using the SG Universe Play4Fun Network social gaming platform.

Although Bay Mills does not feature real money gaming, General Manager Richard LeBlanc has confirmed Bay Mills Resort & Casinos will be announcing new online gambling and sports betting plans in the near future.
