Detroit casinos rebounded from a poor February and turned in a terrific March. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) reported that the three properties generated $117.4 million in March revenue, which consists of slots, table games and retail sports betting.

February was the first time in 13 months Detroit facilities fell under $100 million in revenue for a single month. However, March is typically a fruitful month, especially as the season changes to spring.

Breakdown of March 2025 revenue

Detroit casinos finished March with the best revenue total to date in the young year. It is certainly a good omen, because in 2024, March ended up being the best month of the year.

Detroit casinos posted a massive bump from the month prior. It was a 19.2% increase from February but a 4.5% decrease from last year. Despite the slight dip from a year ago, it’s possible that this past month will be the best of 2025.

Here is the breakdown of revenue from each commercial property in Detroi:

Each property increase significantly from the previous month. However, through the first quarter of 2025, Detroit casinos have produced $317.1 million in earnings. That is slightly down from the $321 million it generated through the first three months of 2024.

There is still plenty of time for facilities to make the roughly $4 million it is behind. May is another month to look forward to, as in 2024, it was the second-best month of the year for Detroit operators.
