A little over a year after sports betting made its debut at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, the main sportsbook attraction is here.

Just in time for football season, the southwest Michigan tribal casino unveiled its new Sportsbook Lounge on Monday.

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians location was open for bets at Four Winds starting last summer, but this season of Michigan sports betting will have an updated look.

“We are very excited to welcome guests to our new Sportsbook Lounge at Four Winds New Buffalo to meet the growing demand for sports betting in Michigan,” said Frank Freedman, chief operating officer of Four Winds Casinos, in a statement. “We feel the layout, design and finishes will provide guests with the right ambiance, comfortable seating options and great views of multiple screens to enjoy a refreshing beverage or cocktail while cheering for their favorite teams.”

What’s in the new Sportsbook Lounge at Four Winds Casino?

The new digs feature 22 televisions, including eight 85-inch TVs, for all the sports action. Guests can be casual on sectional sofas, sit at dining tables, or belly up to the sports bar.

Customers can enter the lounge through the main entrance near the sportsbook kiosks, across from Timbers restaurant.

Hours at the new lounge are 4 p.m. to midnight, Mondays through Thursdays; 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; and 2 to 10 p.m. on Sundays. Sports betting kiosks are open 24 hours.

In addition to the Sportsbook Lounge, Four Winds also has sports betting kiosks at its other two Michigan locations in Dowagiac and Hartford.

Four Winds introduced sports betting in July 2020 when former Chicago Bears legend Steve McMichael made the ceremonial first bet.

Four Winds also has a bet slip creator through its retail casino website. With it, bettors can make their bets from anywhere, then use a QR code to actually place the bet on site at a Four Winds location in MI.

Four Winds online sportsbook, casino launched in February

In addition, Four Winds Casinos operates one of 14 online sportsbook and online casino combinations in Michigan.

The tribe, partnered with Kambi, was the first of three self-branding tribal operators to launch. Four Winds opened for business in February.

Through July, Four Winds had raised $9.8 million in online casino revenue and taken $2.2 million in sports bets in the five-plus months since launch, according to our sports betting revenue tracker.

The Four Winds online sportsbook will offer promos for football season this fall, including a 25% profit boost for every NFC North football game. If a player uses a profit boost in at least 10 weeks of the season, they receive $50 in online casino bonus play if an NFC North team reaches the Super Bowl.

Four Winds operates a fourth casino in South Bend, Indiana. That casino opened Class III amenities in August, adding table games and slot machines to its gaming options.

Plans are for the casino to offer on-site sports betting, though no app is expected at this point.
