BetMGM Poker Michigan has announced a big tournament for this Father’s Day. In fact, given the short history of the site, it is kind of a big-daddy event.
We’re talking about a $1,060 buy-in tournament awarding $25,000 prizes to be used to enter other major tournaments in Las Vegas.
Dubbed the Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament, the eight-handed no-limit hold’em event takes place at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 20. The tournament will award at least two $25,000 prizes, with the winners using those funds to play tournaments in Las Vegas this summer and fall.
Players to use winnings to enter major Vegas events this year
The two $25,000 prizes are guaranteed. However if more players participate, another $25K package will be added for each additional 25 entries.
The winners can use the money to buy into live poker tournaments in Las Vegas as follows:
- June 25-July 2 — Las Vegas $10K buy-in event
- July 2-7 — Las Vegas $5K buy-in event
- Nov. 4-17 — Las Vegas $10K buy-in event
As in the rest of the country, Las Vegas poker rooms have been reopening following last year’s pandemic-related closures. This summer, many have already announced the return of major tournament series following last summer’s hiatus.
The World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas normally occurs during the summer months as well. However, this year’s WSOP will take place from Sept. 30-Nov. 23.
In other words, the Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament might particularly interest players already planning to travel to Las Vegas this summer and again in the fall for the World Series.
$5 BetMGM Sattelites to run June 13-19
BetMGM MI Poker will run qualifying events during the week leading up to the Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament from June 13-19. Buy-ins for these satellites to the Super Satellite will start at $5.
Over in New Jersey, the partypoker US network will host a nearly identical Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament at the same time on June 20. The only difference: That event guarantees at least three $25K prizes. In NJ, the partypoker US network includes three sites, among them BetMGM Poker New Jersey.
Other BetMGM Poker events clash with PokerStars MI series in June
The Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament on BetMGM Poker MI for Father’s Day coincides with the start of the third installment of the BetMGM Online Series coming June 20-27. That 10-tournament series features buy-ins ranging from $20 to $1,060, with guarantees totaling $275,000.
Michigan online poker players can enjoy other options this month as well. On PokerStars MI, the Summer Stacks Festival will be playing out from June 12-28.
The Summer Stacks Festival will feature buy-ins of $100 or less throughout its 100-tournament schedule. Thus will the BetMGM Online Series provide more direct competition to that series than will the high buy-in Ultimate Super Satellite Tournament.
