A progressive jackpot that high certainly attracts players looking to cash in. It’s unique in the iGaming world, a DraftKings spokesperson told PlayMichigan.
“I’m not sure any other operators offer this to customers, so it’s a differentiator.”
The last DraftKings jackpot winner hit on a 20-cent bet on Irish Pot Luck in February, which netted the player nearly $9.3 million.
It’s unclear what the jackpot reset to. However, just two months later, it neared $10 million. A DraftKings spokesperson told PlayMichigan in April that a player could win the progressive on any game.
“The re-seed value for this jackpot was already very large when the last one hit and our jackpot product is now available on all games. For the last jackpot, it was available on just 26 games.”
DraftKings did not confirm whether the progressive is still available on all games.
Blue Ribbon acquisition leads to success
DraftKings credits Blue Ribbon Software Ltd. for creating the progressive jackpot technology.
In 2021, DraftKings acquired Blue Ribbon, a Tel Aviv-based leading global jackpot and gamification company.
At the time, Blue Ribbon CEO Amir Askarov said the company looked forward to enhancing DraftKings’ online casino product.
“We created Blue Ribbon to give companies the ability to differentiate themselves within the highly competitive sports betting and iGaming industries with unique and innovative marketing platform.
“Joining DraftKings will allow us to continue to build our platform to enhance the player experience and to strengthen our Tel Aviv-based team.”
