FireKeepers Casino Hotel will host a $1 million guaranteed poker main event this month, with qualifying tournaments offering players a lower-cost route to the $1,110 buy-in.

The MSPT Spade Poker Championship series runs Oct. 13–18 at the Battle Creek property. The main event begins Oct. 15, with three starting flights before advancing players return for Day 2 on Oct. 18.

Players can try to qualify before the series begins, with $70 and $265 tournaments scheduled Oct. 9–12. FireKeepers’ tournament schedule also includes additional qualifiers during the series and eight other events with buy-ins ranging from $250 to $400.

Three main-event starting flights begin Oct. 15

The no-limit Texas Hold’em main event will take place in FireKeepers’ Event Center. Players begin with 30,000 tournament chips, and the schedule lists 40-minute levels.

The three starting flights are scheduled for:

  • Day 1A: Thursday, Oct. 15, at noon.
  • Day 1B: Friday, Oct. 16, at noon.
  • Day 1C: Saturday, Oct. 17, at noon.

Players who advance from those sessions return Sunday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. for Day 2.

The main-event winner will also receive a $3,500 MSPT Championship seat in addition to their cash prize.

Players must be at least 21 to participate, according to the MSPT’s event listing.

Qualifiers offer entry options below the $1,110 buy-in

Players can enter the main event directly or try to earn a seat through a satellite, a qualifying tournament that awards entry into another event.

The $70 milestone satellites run at 12:15 p.m. each day from Oct. 9–12, with registration open for one hour and 40 minutes. One in five entrants advances to a $265 satellite.

Players taking the $70 route must therefore advance through two tournaments to reach the main event.

Players can also enter a $265 milestone satellite directly. Those tournaments award a main-event seat to one in five entrants, with registration open for three hours.

The upcoming $265 qualifiers begin at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 9, 10, and 12. The Sunday, Oct. 11, tournament has an earlier start time of 4 p.m.

Qualifying opportunities continue after the series opens. Another $265 satellite begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 and 14, followed by two sessions each day at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16. Players qualifying through the $265 satellites held before Oct. 15 can choose main-event Day 1A or Day 1B.

There is also a $135 option at 3 p.m. Oct. 13 and 14. These satellites award a main-event Day 1A or Day 1B seat to one in 10 entrants, and registration remains open until 5:10 p.m.

Side events include seniors, Omaha and nightly tournaments

The opening day features a $400 Epic Stack no-limit Hold’em event at noon Oct. 13, with a 50,000-chip starting stack. A $400 pot-limit Omaha tournament follows at 4 p.m.

On Oct. 14, players ages 50 and older can enter a $300 seniors no-limit Hold’em tournament at noon. A $400 mixed pot-limit Omaha and no-limit Hold’em event begins at 4 p.m.

The schedule also includes $250 nightly no-limit Hold’em tournaments at 8 p.m. Oct. 15–17. Those events start with 20,000 chips and use 20-minute levels.

A $400 Monster Stack no-limit Hold’em tournament closes out the side-event schedule at noon Oct. 18, with 30,000 starting chips and 30-minute levels.
