Island Resort & Casino in Harris has opened limited preview play on the new nine-hole Cedar Course. The preview gives golfers an early look at the resort’s third layout before a broader rollout in 2027.
For Michigan-based casino visitors, the update is more about a broader resort amenity expansion.
Tony Mancilla, the resort’s golf sales and marketing manager, said Cedar brings a different style to the property. He called it a “Golden Age-inspired” design.
Cedar Course Adds a Third Golf Option at Island Resort
The opening expands one of the more prominent non-gaming amenities at Island Resort & Casino. The property already markets golf alongside its casino resort offerings.
Architect Paul Albanese designed the Cedar Course. It joins Sweetgrass and Sage Run at the Upper Peninsula casino resort. For the rest of the 2026 season, the course is operating as a preview experience.
Mancilla said the resort is
“excited to open our third golf course and give guests the opportunity to experience something truly special.”
He also said Cedar
“offers a style of golf unlike anything else on property.”
Albanese was similarly upbeat about the new layout. He said the site may be his favorite of the three courses at the resort. He also said Cedar’s design focuses on “strategy, creativity and fun.”
Full Golf Package Rollout in 2027
For now, Cedar is not yet fully folded into the resort’s standard golf package lineup. That is scheduled to change next year.
According to the source report, Island Resort & Casino plans to fully integrate Cedar into its golf package offerings beginning in 2027.
That makes the current setup more of a limited-access test period than a full launch. Online-only booking and restricted tee-time availability remain in place for the remainder of this season. Preview rounds are priced at $45 per player.
