Slot players at MGM Grand Detroit walked away with more than $361 million in jackpot winnings in 2025, highlighting another banner year for the downtown casino and entertainment destination.

According to figures released Wednesday, MGM Grand Detroit awarded $361,812,613 in slot jackpots over the course of the year, spread across more than 143,000 individual jackpot wins.

Million-dollar win highlights big year

The largest individual jackpot of the year came in July, when a player hit a $1,075,996 jackpot on an Aristocrat Dragon Link slot machine. Another notable win included a $250,000 jackpot awarded just before Thanksgiving.

Matt Buckley, president & COO of MGM Resorts Midwest Group, said in a statement:

“These jackpots highlight the excitement that our guests can experience at MGM Grand Detroit. From incredible payouts to top headliners and amazing restaurants, MGM Grand Detroit delivers world-class entertainment that keeps guests coming back.”

MGM Grand Detroit continues to be one of Michigan’s premier casino destinations, featuring more than 2,100 slot and video poker machines on its casino floor, along with more than 136 table games and Detroit’s only premier poker room.

Casino upgrades continue to enhance player experience

In addition to the jackpot totals, MGM Grand Detroit pointed to significant recent investments in the property. The casino completed $20 million in renovations in 2025, including upgrades to all 400 hotel rooms, new casino floor carpeting, spa improvements, and a newly designed MGM Rewards Desk.

Those upgrades followed another $15 million investment announced in 2024, which coincided with the property’s 25th anniversary.

Responsible gaming remains a focus

As MGM Resorts and BetMGM Casino continue expanding both land-based and digital gaming offerings, responsible gaming remains a key priority, according to the company.

MGM Resorts and BetMGM continue to promote GameSense, a responsible gaming program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. GameSense messaging appears across table games and slot machines at MGM properties, with QR codes offering players access to educational resources.

Those efforts complement BetMGM’s responsible gambling tools available to online and mobile players in Michigan.

MGM Grand Detroit is Michigan’s only downtown casino hotel built from the ground up and remains a major hub for gaming, dining, entertainment, and sports wagering in the state.
