Gun Lake Casino Resort Says It Has Shared More Than $226.9M in 15 Years

Gun Lake Casino Resort says it has distributed more than $226.9 million in revenue-sharing payments since opening in February 2011. The revenue-sharing total marks a major financial milestone for the West Michigan tribal casino since its 15 years of operation.

Local officials gathered at the Shelbyville property on July 15. They went to receive checks and reflect on the casino’s impact since it opened.

Revenue-Sharing Contributions Based on Tribal Compacts

Michigan tribal gaming compacts require a portion of gaming revenue to be shared with state and local governments, including public school systems. It also says Gun Lake Casino Resort and the Gun Lake Tribe have made payments to a range of recipients since launch, including the State of Michigan, local governments, schools, emergency services, and charitable organizations.
