The National Veteran Business Development Council announced MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit will host the 2026 NVBDC National Conference from Oct. 4-6.

The event is titled “Mission: POSSIBLE, Powered by NVBDC 3.0.” It will feature a presentation from NVBDC Executive Director Elaine M. Taylor on the organization’s strategy for veteran business development. Her session is titled “Mission: POSSIBLE – The Future Vision of NVBDC 3.0.”

For MotorCity, the announcement adds a sizable business event to the Detroit casino hotel’s 2026 calendar. The conference is not gaming-related, but it brings a national business gathering to a Michigan casino property.

NVBDC’s Expanded Mission for Veteran Businesses

NVBDC said its expanded vision goes beyond certification for veteran-owned businesses. The vision also includes education, supplier readiness, strategic connections, and business growth support.

Taylor said in the announcement that certification remains central to NVBDC’s work. She also added it is now viewed as a starting point rather than the finish line.

Conference Agenda, Keynote Speaker, and Registration

The conference agenda is expected to include

  • one-on-one business matchmaking
  • educational breakout sessions
  • supplier readiness workshops
  • corporate procurement panels
  • artificial intelligence business training
  • access-to-capital discussions
  • international business programming
  • executive networking events
  • a Veteran Marketplace

Taylor said,

“Our responsibility is to ensure they have the business tools, industry knowledge, and corporate relationships needed to bring those same strengths into today’s competitive marketplace.”

The event will also feature keynote speaker Keni Thomas. NVBDC identified him as a retired U.S. Army Ranger, Black Hawk Down veteran, bestselling author, and leadership speaker.

NVBDC describes the conference as America’s Premier Veteran Business Matchmaking Conference & Marketplace.

Registration is now open for the event. However, additional details in the release did not include expected attendance, participating corporations or agencies, or registration pricing.
