Bet365 is poised to enter Michigan’s online gambling market through a new partnership with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, positioning the global operator to offer both sports wagering and Michigan online casino gaming in one of the nation’s most established iGaming states.
The deal would see bet365 take over the license previously held by PokerStars, marking a significant shift for the tribe and signaling another change in Michigan’s competitive online gaming landscape.
Bet365 eyes Michigan entry through Odawa partnership
The move comes after a broader shakeup involving Flutter Entertainment, which has been transitioning PokerStars’ U.S. operations, including Michigan, under the FanDuel Casino brand. That shift effectively opened a valuable iGaming license tied to the Odawa tribe, creating an opportunity for a new operator to step in.
Bet365 Casino and bet365 Sportsbook appear ready to capitalize. References to a Michigan launch have surfaced in regulatory language tied to the company, indicating a partnership with Odawa Casino, Inc. under oversight from the Michigan Gaming Control Board.
The agreement would give bet365 access to both iGaming and Michigan sports betting verticals through the state’s tribal licensing system.
PokerStars exit creates rare market opportunity
The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians have been part of Michigan’s iGaming market since its 2021 launch, partnering with PokerStars for iGaming and online poker. However, PokerStars never established itself as a major player in the state’s iGaming space, consistently trailing market leaders in revenue.
Its departure leaves one of Michigan’s limited licenses available, an uncommon opportunity in a market that has been effectively closed to new entrants since launch. For the Odawa tribe, the transition represents a chance to align with a more competitive operator.
Hard Rock Bet was an exception, which launched in late 2025. The operator has found success so far.
What players can expect as Bet365 continues expansion
Once bet365’s Michigan launch is approved, players can expect a platform similar to what the operator offers in other U.S. markets, including a full iGaming and a feature-rich sports wagering platform.
Bet365 is known for its in-play betting options, competitive odds and a user-friendly interface, which could help it stand out in Michigan’s crowded sports wagering market. The company also typically integrates its sports wagering and iGaming products into a single account, allowing for a more streamlined user experience.
On the iGaming side, bet365 would likely offer a mix of the following games, which is similar to its NJ and PA products:
MI online casino bonuses will also be a key factor. Bet365 has historically leaned on aggressive welcome offers and ongoing promotions to attract new users in newly launched markets, something that could put additional pressure on existing operators in Michigan.
The operator would also lean on MI sports betting bonuses to attract players and compete with some of the top operators.
While an official launch date has not been announced, the addition of another globally recognized brand would give Michigan players more choice and further deepen competition across both sports wagering and iGaming platforms.
Competitive pressure increases in mature market
If approved, bet365’s entry would maintain Michigan’s full lineup of iGaming operators while intensifying competition, particularly among mid-tier brands seeking market share.
With few remaining pathways into the state, the Odawa license transition stands out as one of the most notable developments in Michigan’s online gaming sector since launch.
Bet365’s arrival could reshape the competitive landscape and provide the tribe with a stronger long-term partner in an increasingly crowded market.
