Newcomer Hard Rock Bet made headlines in its first full month as an iGaming operator, helping the market to $298.3 million in January revenue, the Michigan Gaming Control Board reported.
As Michigan online casinos delivered their second-best month ever, Hard Rock finished fourth in revenue, producing $23.1 million.
Quick rise
Hard Rock launched an iGaming and sports platform in December with a strong reputation. The operator has had success with an online and retail presence in New Jersey.
Hard Rock is wasting no time, making its presence felt in the Great Lakes State in a big way. It finished behind the usual market leaders of FanDuel Casino, BetMGM Casino, and DraftKings Casino.
While Hard Rock is not new to the gambling world, it is new to Michigan. It finished ahead of operators that have been around much longer, including Fanatics, BetRivers and Caesars.
It’s clear that Hard Rock is going to be a strong option for Michigan players in the state.
FanDuel starts strong
FanDuel had largely overtaken BetMGM towards the end of 2025, as it finished with $817.1 million compared to the latter’s $782.5 million. The momentum continued at the start of 2026.
FanDuel led the market, once again, producing $73.3 million to BetMGM’s $65.8 million. It looks evident that FanDuel is poised to control the market in 2026, unless BetMGM has something up its sleeve to regain the top spot.
Second-best month ever
Michigan online casino revenue came close to its second straight $300 million month. Despite that, it’s still the second-best month of all-time for the state.
December set the record with $315.8 million in revenue. January was a 5.5% decline from December but a 20.2% increase from January 2025.
February is historically a down month for operators, but March has broken records in the past. With January being such a strong month, the industry does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
