The three Detroit casinos produced $106.9 million in total revenue in August, a slight drop-off from July’s $107 million.

The total represented a 3.6% year-over-year decrease, with revenue from slots and tables down 4.6% from a year ago, according to data supplied by the Michigan Gaming Control Board.

Detroit casinos have produced $851.3 million through August. That’s down just 1.2% from 2024, when properties recorded $861.9 million in revenue.

Individual casinos remain relatively flat

Since the industry as a whole didn’t change much from July, no Detroit casino stood out from another in terms of revenue.

MGM Grand Detroit is the only property to increase revenue in August. Hollywood Casino at Greektown took the biggest month-over-month dip at 3.4%.

September has ordinarily been a down month compared to August. Detroit casinos hover around $100 million in revenue in that month since 2022. In 2023, properties didn’t even reach that threshold.
