The Michigan Gaming Control Board has rolled out an expanded version of its “Don’t Regret the Bet” website, adding new tools and resources aimed at promoting responsible gambling across the state.
The update coincides with Problem Gambling Awareness Month. It reflects growing demand for support services as online gaming access continues to expand in Michigan.
The revamped site includes enhanced educational materials, improved navigation, and mobile accessibility, along with a broader range of support options designed to help users make informed decisions about gambling.
Expanded tools focus on awareness, access
Among the key additions are new sections focused on recognizing signs of problem gambling, understanding risk factors, and accessing confidential help services.
The site also offers resources for friends and family members who may be supporting someone struggling with gambling-related issues.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said the update is intended to make responsible gaming information easier to access.
“Responsible gaming starts with awareness and access to reliable information. By expanding our website, we are making it easier for Michiganders to understand the risks associated with gambling and to connect with help if they need it.”
Youth prevention a key component
The updated platform also introduces a new Youth Gambling Prevention section. It provides research-based guidance for parents, educators, and community leaders.
The section includes tools and conversation guides to help address early exposure to gambling.
Data highlighted on the site shows that children introduced to betting by age 12 are four times more likely to develop problem gambling behaviors later in life. Additional research cited by the MGCB indicates individuals who gamble before age 18 are nearly twice as likely to experience gambling-related problems as adults.
‘Don’t Regret the Bet’ campaign continues
The expansion builds on the state’s broader “Don’t Regret the Bet” campaign, which aims to reduce stigma around seeking help and connect residents with available resources. The campaign has received national recognition, most recently as a finalist of the 2025 PRNEWS Platinum Awards.
Officials noted that thousands of Michigan residents contact the state’s problem gambling helpline each year, underscoring the need for accessible information and support.
Additional features on the updated website include expanded FAQs, prevention materials, and direct links to confidential services such as the Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline.
The website remains free and publicly accessible to anyone seeking information on responsible gaming and gambling-related risks.
