The Michigan Gaming Control Board has issued cease-and-desist orders to eight unlicensed online casinos found to be operating illegally in Michigan, reinforcing the state’s commitment to policing unauthorized gambling activity and protecting consumers.

Under Michigan law, only MGCB-licensed operators may legally offer internet gaming and sports wagering in the state. The eight entities named in the enforcement action are:

  • Bspin Casino
  • Everygame Casino
  • Everygame Sports Casino
  • Kudos Casino
  • PlayCroco Online Casino
  • Slots of Vegas
  • Spin Dimension
  • Super Slots

Michigan offers legal online casinos and sports betting operators. The MGCB does not tolerate unlicensed operators.

What the action entails

Henry Williams, executive director of the MGCB, warned of the dangers posed by unlicensed operators.

“These unlawful operators try to present themselves as legitimate entertainment options, but they offer zero player protections, no accountability, and a real risk to consumers.

“Our message is simple: If you want to offer gambling in Michigan, follow the law or we will stop you. We will continue to work aggressively to keep illegal gambling out of our state.”

The cease-and-desist orders require the eight operators to immediately halt any services targeting Michigan residents. If they fail to comply, the MGCB says it may escalate enforcement actions in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.

Because unlicensed operators are not subject to regulatory oversight, they evade safeguards such as independent testing, consumer protection protocols, and financial accountability.

The MGCB is also promoting its Play It Smart, Michigan public awareness campaign, aimed at educating citizens on how to distinguish authorized platforms from illicit ones. As part of the effort, the agency has published a “Legal vs. Illegal Gaming” webpage that outlines warning signs – fake ads, suspicious branding, or lack of licensing – and provides a current list of authorized online operators.

Williams reiterated that consumers should always verify whether a site is licensed in Michigan by checking Michigan.gov/MGCB. He also urged those who suspect illegal gambling activity to tip off authorities via hotline (888-314-2682) or email (MIGamblingTip@michigan.gov).

Previous cease-and-desist orders

The MGCB has been an aggressive regulator in terms of going after illegal gambling.

It issued nearly 40 cease-and-desist letters in July and August in three separate sweeps. The MGCB chased away 19 in early July and then six more later in the month.

Fifteen more operators also ceased operations last month.

The MGCB has made clear it will not tolerate unlicensed gambling to protect Michiganders and the integrity of the legal market.
