Saganing Eagles Landing Casino is celebrating 15 years of operation this week.
The casino and hotel located in Standish has a busy weekend of events and promotions to commemorate the occasion. Events and giveaways will take place Friday, Jan. 13, through Sunday, Jan. 15.
So put on your party hat and be prepared to celebrate the 15th Anniversary with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
Saganing Eagles Landing 15th Anniversary ceremony
The anniversary weekend will kickoff on at 11 a.m. Friday with an hour-long ceremony inside the casino.
Included in the ceremony will be:
- A performance by Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribal dancers
- A prayer from tribal chaplain Alice Jo Ricketts
- Welcoming remarks from tribal chief Theresa Peters-Jackson
- A performance from the Onion Creek Singers & Dancers
- Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel representative delivers remarks
- Council representatives provide closing remarks
- A cake cutting to ring in 15 years of operation
Special Saganing Eagles Landing anniversary promotions
Throughout the 15th anniversary weekend for Saganing Eagles Landing, special hot seat drawings will be taking place.
The drawings will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. drawing winners will receive $1,500 in cash.
Live music will also be available from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
15 years of Saganing Eagles Landing Casino
Saganing Eagles Landing opened its doors in 2008.
Over the 15 years, the Standish casino has grown and developed. Notably, the casino added over 138,000 square feet through a renovation project in 2017.
In the middle of 2019, Saganing Eagles Landing completed a 148-room hotel.
“Lots of great things have happened at Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel since we opened our doors 15 years ago,” said Tanya Bardy, Advertising and Public Relations Manager for Saganing Eagles Landing. “One of the biggest was the addition of our 148-room hotel and the expansion of the gaming floor in 2019. The gaming floor now offers over 1,100 slot machines. With the addition of the hotel came an indoor pool, jacuzzi, fitness center and meeting space. The Casino expansion gave our guests more dining options and 200 additional slot machines.”
Saganing Eagles Landing also jumped into the legalized sports betting world in April of last year. It opened the Creekside Lounge Sportsbook where guests can watch and wager while grabbing a bite to eat.
Last year also saw SELCH launch its first summer concert series. That will return in 2023.
“Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel guests can look forward to more summer concerts,” Bardy said. “2022 was the first year we held concerts at Saganing Eagle’s Landing Casino & Hotel and these were well received. Summer 2023 will be another year where we can bring entertainment for all of our guests under the summer night sky.”
