Evolution Gaming is continuing to expand its presence in Michigan’s iGaming market with the opening of a new live dealer studio in Grand Rapids. The company announced this week the facility is now operational, marking Evolution’s seventh live studio in the US and second in Michigan.
The Sweden-based gaming supplier already operates a Michigan studio in Southfield, which launched in 2021. The new Grand Rapids location is expected to increase Evolution’s live dealer capacity while broadening its game offerings for Michigan online casino players.
Evolution doubles down on Michigan
Michigan has become one of the largest markets in the country since launching iGaming in 2021, making it a priority state for major suppliers like Evolution.
According to the company, the Grand Rapids studio will stream live dealer content for both Evolution and its sister brand, Ezugi. Games offered from the new facility include blackjack, roulette and baccarat, along with specialty titles such as EZ Baccarat and Triple Zero Roulette.
Evolution also said additional live dealer games, including Ice Fishing and XXXtreme Lightning Roulette, are expected to launch later this year.
Jacob Claesson, CEO of Evolution North America, called Michigan an important market for the company’s US growth plans:
“We are incredibly excited to open our new Grand Rapids studio and continue expanding Evolution’s presence in the United States.
“Michigan is an important market for us, and this new studio allows us to further enhance the player experience while increasing our capacity to offer our world-leading live casino content to operators and players across the state.”
New studio expected to bring jobs
The expansion is also expected to create additional jobs in West Michigan.
Evolution previously indicated the Grand Rapids studio could eventually employ hundreds of workers as the company continues growing its live dealer business in the state. Earlier reports tied to the project said the supplier expected more than 300 employees at the facility.
Evolution already has a major footprint in Michigan. In 2024, the company said it employed roughly 700 workers in the state and projected that number would surpass 1,000 following the expansion of its Grand Rapids and Southfield operations.
Claesson added the new studio further cements the company’s investments in the state:
“Beyond expanding our live dealer offering, this studio creates new employment opportunities within the Grand Rapids community.
“The launch of the Grand Rapids studio reflects Evolution’s continued commitment to investing in regulated US markets, delivering premium entertainment experiences, and supporting local economic growth.”
Live dealer games continue to grow in popularity across regulated US markets, with Michigan remaining one of Evolution’s key states because of its strong Michigan online casino revenue and mature iGaming ecosystem.
