DraftKings has announced that it will no longer accept credit cards as a deposit method into customer accounts.

This is a responsible gambling method DraftKings has instituted to protect customers, a DraftKings spokesperson said.

“DraftKings has made the strategic business decision to remove credit cards as a deposit option for sportsbook and casino in the United States.

“The change is intended to help customers avoid cash advance fees and higher interest rates often associated with this payment method and otherwise improve the deposit experience.”

That lessens the options customers can use to deposit money into accounts.

Ban includes Golden Nugget Casino

DraftKings has multiple platforms, especially in Michigan. The idea is to ban the use of customers depositing money into accounts via a credit card.

DraftKings Casino and DraftKings Sportsbook are no longer accepting the use of credit cards, which went into effect earlier this week. DraftKings also operates Golden Nugget Casino, which is also part of the credit card ban.

The operator joins Fanatics as the only other sports betting and online casino operator in Michigan to adopt a similar strategy.

There are still several ways customers can fund their accounts in Michigan:

  • PayPal
  • Debit card
  • Play+ prepaid card
  • Wire transfer
  • Apple Pay
  • PayNearMe

DraftKings did not immediately respond to a question regarding customers using credit cards through PayPal to fund accounts.
