Michigan sports operators set a revenue record in a single month in November, generating $89 million. That’s along with platforms producing $645.5 million in November handle, the second-most all-time, the Michigan Gaming Control Board reported on Tuesday.

Michigan sportsbooks fell short of the handle record set in November 2024, when they recorded $671.2 million. Last month was a 3.8% year-over-year decrease, but it was a 4.1% month-over-month increase.

A hold rate of 13.8% contributed to the Michigan sports betting revenue record in the Great Lakes State.

Operators punch back again

Sports wagering operators got the better of the public once again, raking in a record-setting amount in revenue last month.

It’s the second straight month platforms achieved double-digit hold rates. Back in October, operators delivered a 12.2% hold rate.

The public got off to a better start in September as operators recorded an 8.2% hold rate. The public will look to get a lick back in the final month of the regular season in the NFL.

No more ESPN BET

ESPN BET is making its departure from the Michigan market, with November being the operator’s last full month in operation.

It finished fourth in handle, generating $33.2 million, behind FanDuel, DraftKings Sportsbook, and BetMGM Sportsbook.

ESPN BET never got a strong foothold in the market, which triggered the breakup between PENN Entertainment and ESPN.

PENN just rolled out its new operator, theScore Bet, on Dec. 1. Bets and account balances should have transferred over automatically.

FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook led the market once again, in handle and revenue, recording $240.2 million/$39.9 million and $186.7 million/$23.8 million, respectively.
